Muriel Lindley
December 18, 2018

Muriel Lindley, 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 18th at the Holiday Retirement Home in Lincoln. She was born in England, daughter of Celestine and Fannie (Arundel) Neveu.

She was the wife of the late Robert Lindley.

She was the sister of the late Paul, Victor, and Donald Neveu, Gwen Power, and Doris Wiltshire, all of England.

Muriel is survived by her loving daughters and their families: Sally Mellor and her husband, David; Jayne Lindley and her partner, Richard Pond; Dawn Seymore and her husband, James; and Deborah Frazier and her husband, Joseph. She also leaves a grandson, Andrew Mellor and his wife, Kaitlyn and a granddaughter, Nichole Frazier.

She also leaves 2 great-grandchildren, Owen and Piper Mellor.  Muriel leaves many nieces, nephews, and their children in England.

Muriel lived most of her life in Lincoln. She moved here from England in 1954 after meeting and then marrying Bob who was serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. She devoted her life to Bob and their 4 daughters, working, and being an active member of Christ Church in Lonsdale, including their Altar Guild.

She enjoyed traveling now and then to England to visit her family and always looked forward to their visits to Lincoln.  Her favorite place to vacation was Narragansett, where they would rent a cottage every summer.  Muriel was an animal lover, all kinds. There was always a pet in the busy Lindley home, usually a stray or from a shelter.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. She was a true friend, always taking the time to listen and help in whatever way she could.

Muriel was very kind and giving and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends, including her Holiday Retirement Home friends.

Calling hours at the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, December 21st. Her funeral will be private.
