Marion "Lee" Reed, passed away peacefully at home with his wife Florence (Saliba) Reed and his family surrounding him on Wednesday, August 16th 2023.
He was born on July 18th 1931 in Mobeetie, Texas to Hugh Thomas Reed and Luda Davis Reed. He was the youngest of four children. His sister Viola and brothers HT Reed and John Reed predeceased him.
He loved telling stories about growing up in the Texas panhandle. At 17 he enlisted in the Navy and was a submarine sailor in the Korean War. While the sub was under repair in New London CT he met his wife Florence and they were married for 65 yrs.
He was employed after the Navy as a Sales Manager for Providence Mill Supply until he retired for health reasons.
Besides his wife Florence, he leaves his daughter Lynn Costantino and two grandchildren Danielle and Christopher Costantino who he adored. His great grandchildren Carter Costantino and Grayson, Oliver, and Owen Costantino.
He spent most of his retirement time with his grandchildren. He never missed a school dance or softball game with Danielle and every baseball game with Christopher and loved having all their friends hanging out at the house. We went on family trips together throughout the years. He loved to play golf and along with his brother in law Don would golf on the weekends. He was a Master Mason at St John’s Lodge. He had been the oldest past master in RI. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Lincoln.
A celebration of life service will be held at the church at 10am on Friday August 25th. Burial afterwards will be private.
