To all the Berard Family, I am so sad to see of Michael's passing. I worked with him at Grinnell and he was by far my favorite boss! I saw him at City Hall where I ended up working after and made sure the whole office knew Michael was my favorite boss... he just put on that great smile and laughed!

Dear Pauline and Family. I worked with Mike for about 20 years at Grinnell Fire Protection up until the break-up in 2000. My deepest sympathy.
I am not sure what to say at this difficult time. The love Mike had for you and his children and his first grandchild, Emmet. He beamed whenever he talked about Emmet, is something that can never be taken away. Hold on to that and know he is always with you.

To Pauline & family - my heartfelt sympathies for you loss. I worked with Mike for more than 15 years in both Grinnell’s corporate headquarters and the district office. He was first and foremost always a gentleman, but also a consummate professional when it came to getting a job done. He had a smile that would light up a room and a knack for getting his team to perform at their best - always treating everyone with the same courtesy and respect. He was a wonderful mentor and a true family man. May his spirit live on in all of you.
