Marie Cecile Lapre, 93, of Cumberland, died Sunday, April 16, 2017. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Lapre. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Eva (Fontaine) Desaulniers.

Mrs. Lapre was employed at the lunch counter at Ann & Hope Stores until her retirement. She previously worked for J.P. Coats, Fiberglass and as a cafeteria hostess for Fromont.

She was born and raised in Rhode Island and was a long time communicant of St. Matthew Church, Central Falls.

Marie loved gardening, sewing, crocheting and was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast.  She and her late husband also enjoyed square dancing.  She had been a past member of AARP Smithfield Ave. Congregational Church, Missionary Circle St. Matthew Church and a volunteer at Central Falls Senior Center.

Mrs. Lapre is survived by her daughters, Andrea Kubacki of Cumberland and Sylvia daSilva of Attleboro, MA; 3 grandchildren, Aaron daSilva, Sharon (Kubacki) George of CT and Michael Kubacki; 6 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.  She was the mother of the late David L. Lapre and the sister of the late Rita Gilligan.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 19th at 3:30 pm at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery will be private.
