Mr. Oliva R. (Bushy) Beauchemin

Mr. Oliva R. (Bushy) Beauchemin, 95 years old, of Central Falls, passed away on November 16th at Mt. St. Rita Health Care Center in Cumberland after a long illness. Born on April 3, 1921, he was a son of the late Joseph and Fedora (Bonin) Beauchemin. He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Rose Alma (Berard) Beauchemin and Josephine (Padykula) Luoni) Beauchemin his wife for 34 years; he was also predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Raymond and a sister, Irene Nolette.

He is survived by three sons, Rev. Ronald of Washington, DC, Norman of Lincoln, Rl and Roland of Venice, FL, and two daughters, Susan Walker of Lincoln, Rl, and Jane Bedard of Brooksville, FL, a stepdaughter Joanne Socci of Scituate, Rl, and a sister Terese Laflamme; as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Oliva Beauchemin was employed for many years by the former Corning Glass Works in Central Falls, retiring in 1983.

He was very involved with his Church, St. Matthew's and in service to the poor and needy. He was an avid ball player, playing in the industrial league as well as a great duck pin bowler and golfer. He was also a great entertainer, participating in many parish minstrels and entertainment for High Schools and the elderly.

Calling hours are on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 8:30AM until 9:45 am at the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln, Rl, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit (St. Matthew) Church, 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls at 10:30AM. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
