Angeline A. "Angie" Laprise,
102, of Johnston, died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Elmhurst Extended Care, Providence. She was the wife of the late Lucien Laprise.
Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Jose and Anna (Rodrigues) Rodrigues.
Angie came to the United States in 1919 at the age of six and settled in the Utica, NY area where she continued to maintain dear friends. She moved to Rhode Island in 1941 then to San Leandro, CA in 1948. She returned to Rhode Island in 1986 after residing in Lewiston, ME for the previous five years.
She was employed in a supervisory capacity at the former Clover Bead Jewelry Co. in Pawtucket. In California, she was employed in a supervisory position at a fabric retail firm in San Leandro.
Survivors include 3 nieces, Joanne Nuccio, Betty Ann Pinsky and Dolores F. Parlato; 3 godchildren, Alzira Wojcikiewicz, Mary Calista and Maria Diamond; dear frieds Adeline Morrone, JoAnn Larsson and Paula Cerra. She was the sister of the late Isabella Frates,; aunt of the late Eleanor M. Cerri, Barbara Anne Topa, and Joseph Frates; cherished friend of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Rodrigues Sr. and Mrs. Maria Nunes.
Angie’s funeral will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 9:15 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Historic St. Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Entombment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 8:45-9:15 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Angie’s memory to Tribute Program, St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
