Thomas C. Gity

Thomas C. Gity, 86, of Pawtucket, died Tuesday, July 21st at the VA Regional Medical Center, Providence.  He was the husband of the late Beatrice (Normandin) Gity.  Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Christo and Domnica (Lity) Gity, he had resided in Pawtucket most of his life. 

Mr. Gity was the owner of Tom’s Shoe Repair on Dexter Street in Central Falls for many years.  He was a Korean War Army Veteran.  He was also a member of the Garfield Social Club.

Survivors include his sons Thomas J. Gity of Pompano Beach, FL and Michael R. Gity of Pawtucket; daughters Christine Rochefort of Rumford and Lynda Feroce and her husband Domenico of Coventry; brother James Gity of Pawtucket; sisters Sofia Showalter and Catherine Gity both of Pawtucket; sister-in-law Lucille LeBlanc of Pawtucket; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Vangel and Leo Gity.

His funeral service will be held Saturday at 9:00 am in the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. Burial with Military honors will be in St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Cemetery, Woonsocket.  Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 pm.
