Joseph Faria, of Seekonk, died Friday, May 30, 2014. He was husband of Irene (Laroque) Faria. They had been married 59 years. Born in Seekonk, he was a son of the late Antonio and Mary (DeCosta) Faria.

Mr. Faria was employed as a plant manager for Carol Cable Company for 49 years prior to his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW Post #6053 and The Holy Ghost Society.

His son Mark Faria and his wife Beverly of Cumberland, his daughter Nancy DiBonaventura and her husband Peter of Lincoln; his sister Dorothy Cusack of Hingham, MA; grandchildren Megan and Laura DiBonaventura and Emily and Jacob Faria survive him. He was the brother of the late Manuel Faria and Mary Cunha.

A Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 964 Taunton Ave., Seekonk, MA. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
