Catherine P. Raposa Crawley,
94, of North Smithfield, formerly of Lincoln, died March 2, 2014 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late John Raposa and the late Michael J. Crawley. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth (Devlin) Hughes, she had lived in Pawtucket for 33 years prior to moving to Lincoln in 1950.
Catherine was educated in the Pawtucket School System and was a graduate of the former Talbut Hubbard Business School. She was employed as an office supervisor for Prudential Insurance Co. during World War II. She later worked as an executive assistant for Ann & Hope Stores retiring in 1971 to care for her ill husband.
She was a communicant of Historic St. Joseph Church; a member of St. Aidan Church Seniors, St. Patrick Church Seniors and Central Falls YMCA Senior Citizens.
Catherine is survived by her son John H. Raposa and his wife Rebecca of Cumberland and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Gendron and Margaret Martin.
Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave., N. Smithfield. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 pm at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln.
