Michael J. White, 60, of Cumberland died unexpectedly at home. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond T. and Mary J. (Victoria) White.

He was a graduate of the Class of 1975 of Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a major in Mechanical Engineering. He later pursued post graduate studies at MIT.

Michael was the founder of the former White Engineering. He later worked as an engineer for Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Michael’s hobbies included sports, machining and casting of small home novelties, woodworking and model aircrafts.

He is survived by his aunts, Catherine Horoho, Arissina Paquette, Dolores Ruel and Laura Souza and several cousins. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth M. White.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3:00 pm at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. Calling hours are from 2:00–3:00 pm.
