Gabrielle "Gaby" Marie Marcotte

Gabrielle "Gaby" Marie Marcotte, 87, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Rosaire A. "Rosy" Marcotte. Born in Lincoln, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and L. Bertha (Lagasse) Thibodeau.

Gaby was a graduate of St. Mathieu's School, Central Falls, St. Xavier Academy, Providence, and Perry Normal School, Boston, Massachusetts. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roger Williams University, Bristol and a Master of Arts degree from Rhode Island College, Providence.

Mrs. Marcotte was employed as a teacher for the Central Falls School Dept. for many years. She was a former committeeperson for Camp Ker Anna and a leader of the St. Mathieu Girl Scout Troop.

Gaby was a strong, fun loving and inquisitive woman who unselfishly devoted her life to her family, her community and to the children she taught and counseled at Camp Ker-Anna and in the Girl Scout organization. She is considered by many to be a role model for the modern young woman.

Mrs. Marcotte is survived by her son Charles L. and his wife Patricia H. Marcotte of Lincoln; her daughters Susan J. Famiglietti of Lincoln, Lisa M. Costa of New Jersey, Lori A. and her husband Michael P. Longtin of N. Kingstown, and Beth A. and her husband Michael C. McLoughlin of S. Kingstown; grandchildren Charles H. and his wife Kerri L. Marcotte, Joseph H. Marcotte, Ashley G. Longtin and her fiancée David Delahunt, Shane M. McLoughlin, Robert M. Longtin, Mathew F. Costa, Anne G. McLoughlin, Gabrielle R. Costa and great grandson Zachary C. Marcotte.

She was the mother-in-law of the late Stephen R. Famiglietti and Frank M. Costa and the sister of the late Jeannette Hetu.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:15 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Holy Spirit Parish (St. Matthew Church), 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Friday from 4:30-8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gaby's memory to Camp Ker-Anna, 500 Reservoir Rd., Cumberland, RI 02864 would be appreciated.
