Rita C. Hunt, 92, of Lincoln, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Henry W. Hunt. Born in Tignish, Prince Edward Island, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Fidelis (Gaudet) Maillet.

She was employed as a seamstress for Red Farm Studio and was a devoted mother to her family.

"She provided us with unconditional love and support. She had a passion and joy for life which was contagious to all around her. She was a happy person and brought that into all of our lives. She had a gift for creativity and loved painting, singing and sewing. She passed her creativity down to her family, as well as her sassy sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all of us."

Her sons, Henry T. Hunt and his wife Maureen and Eugene R. Hunt and his wife Ellen; her daughters Susan A. Hardy and her husband Nelson and Elaine M. McDonnell and her husband Mike; her grandchildren Trisha Suggs Johnson and her husband Michael, Raymond A. Hunt and his wife JoAnne, Henry J. Hunt and his wife Patty, Geoffrey M. Hunt and his wife Jenn, David A. Hunt, Brian K. Hunt and his wife Andrea, Meghan F. Grout and her husband Greg, Michael C. McDonnell and his wife Monica, Melanie F. Hardy and Bailey K. Hardy and her great grandchildren Andy, Alison, Olivia, Julia, Jaxson, Josie, Emily and Jax survive her.

A Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 9:00 am in St. Jude Church, Front St., Lincoln. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
