Maurice E. Tobin, Sr., 95, formerly of Pawtucket, died Thursday, April 4th at Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth G. (Rock) Tobin. Born in Lincoln, he was the son of the late Patrick and Anna (McLaughlin) Tobin.

Mr. Tobin had been employed as a teacher for the Providence School System prior to his retirement. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the former Eugene T. Lefebvre VFW Post #1271.

He is survived by his son Maurice E. "Ted" Tobin Jr. of Lincoln; his daughters Patricia A. Benoit of Somerset, MA and Lynn Venneman of Pawtucket; his grandchildren Chris Benoit, Melissa Carriveau, Jon Benoit, John Conneally, Sean Conneally, Todd Venneman, Maurice E. Tobin III, David H. Tobin and 9 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Mary Iannotti and Nora Cote.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Blessed Pope John Paul II (St. Leo Church), 699 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Monday evening from 6-8.
