Dorothy S. Hebert, 93, of Middletown, formerly of Cumberland, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late George A. Hebert, Sr. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine (Schorpp) Shupe.

Mrs. Hebert had been employed as a merchandising manager in major appliances at the Ann & Hope Store in Cumberland. She was also a volunteer for the Girl Scouts of RI for over 30 years and later served on their Board of Directors. She was a volunteer for the Cumberland and the Middletown Libraries.

She is survived by her sons George A. Hebert Jr. of Seekonk, MA, Charles F. Hebert of Springfield, VA and Thomas B. Hebert of Troy, VA; her daughters Anita R. Canavan of Windham, NH and Mary H. Wladkowski of Anchorage, AK; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Mark J. Hebert and the sister of the late Andrew G. Shupe.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
