George Gannites, 84, formerly of Lincoln, died January 1, 2013. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Noelte) Gannites. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Athena (Evdu) Gannites.

Mr. Gannites was employed with the Limerock Fire Department for many years. He retired as the Chief in 1986. He also served with the Lincoln Police in its special police program. He was also a member of the FOPA.

His daughter Ruth LaFountaine and her husband Ken of Bellingham, MA; his daughter-in-law Ione Gannites of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren Tammy Bougouis of Lincoln, Bethany Gannites of No. Smithfield, Greg Mancini of Plymouth, MA, Ryan Mancini of Bellingham, MA; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive him. He was the father of the late George Gannites and the brother of the late Saterios and Cristo Gannites.

A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, January 25th at 10:30am in the chapel at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Burial will follow.
