Maria Alviti-Valeriani, 90, of Rome, Italy and Lincoln, RI, passed away on January 16, 2013 at St. Antoine's Residence in North Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Alcide Valeriani. Born in Rome, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Assunta and Italo Alviti.

She leaves her beloved daughter Daniela Valeriani-Hazard and her husband Thomas Hazard of Lincoln. She was the loving grandmother "Nonna" of Daniel and Francesca Hazard. She leaves a brother Mario Alviti of Rome, Italy. She was the beloved aunt of several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by siblings Giulio, Iolanda, Lamberto, Sergio and Arturo.

Maria moved to the United States in 1991 to be with her loving grandchildren whom she adored. She took special pride in teaching them the Italian language and culture showing them her native country during the numerous trips she took with them. Maria will be sorely missed by her family here and in Italy.

A Mass of celebration will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln, RI. Burial will be in Rome, Italy.
