Lillian I. (Bessette) Letendre, 94, formerly of Pawtucket, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Ernest J. Letendre, Sr. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Aldei and Beatrice (Desmarais) Bessette.

Mrs. Letendre was employed as a packer at Corning Glassworks for many years. She was a very active volunteer at Notre Dame Church Soup Kitchen.

Her daughters Joan C. Metcalf and her husband Philip of Attleboro, and Suzanne I. Law and her husband Ronald of North Providence; her son Ernest J. Letendre Jr. and his wife Kathleen Fahey of Smithfield; her sister Claire LaPalme of Attleboro; 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive her. She was the sister of the late Alphonse, Gerard, Charles, Roland and Raymond Bessette, Therese Medeiros, Adrienne Lemay, Madeline Jones and Jeanne Thomas.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Spirit Parish (St. Matthew Church) Dexter St., Central Falls. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 pm.
