Edward M. "Eddie" Gorman

Edward M. "Eddie" Gorman, 77, of Lincoln, died Monday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Marie T. (Burns) Gorman. Born in Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Edward M. and Mary (Nield) Gorman.

Mr. Gorman was a retired Detective Commander for the Lincoln Police Department. Following his retirement from the police force he worked as a court officer for the Rhode Island Supreme Court. He was a Korean Army veteran, a member of the Lincoln FOPA and the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick.

His son Patrolman Sean E. Gorman and his wife Andrea of Lincoln, his sisters Roselie M. Saltzman of Lincoln and Eileen M. Gorman of Lincoln and his grandson Aidan M. Gorman survive him. He was the brother of the late Kevin E. Gorman.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Jude Church, Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7pm.
