Domenic Peter Iacovone, 95 years old, of Cumberland died on August 1, 2012, at Hallworth House, Providence. He was husband of the late Margaret (Forehand) Iacovone. Born in Ontario, Canada he was a son of the late Peter and Annie (McGrath) Iacovone. He moved to Pawtucket as a child.

He is survived by his son Peter Iacovone of Spring Hill Florida and daughter Mary Iacovone Suchodolski of Cumberland RI, grandfather of Brenda Skoglund, Ronald Iacovone, George Regan, James Suchodolski, Jillian Suchodolski and Danvers Fleury, and great-grandfather of 9 children. He was the brother of Alfred, Robert Iacovone and Edith Fortier.

He was the father of the late Patricia Iacovone Fleury and the brother of the late Lawrence Iacocone and Laura Bartkiewicz.

Domenic was a WWII Army Staff Sargent. He took part in the eastern Mandates, Southern Philippines and Ryukyus,Okinowa campaigns.

He was a mechanic at Miller Electric in Woonsocket. Domenic enjoyed Rocky Hill Flea market, gardening, building bird houses, Red Sox and the Patriots cheerleaders!

Burial with Military Honors will be on Saturday, August 4th at 10:30 am at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Please gather at the administration building for escort to the chapel.
