James R. McGinness, 73, of Lincoln, died Thursday, July 19th. He was the husband of Muriel S. (Sweeney) McGinness. They had been married 50 years. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late William and Yvonne (Erno) McGinness and a step-son of the late Doris (Descelles) McGinness.

Mr. McGinness was employed as a supervisor for Hasbro Manufacturing Co. for 44 years. He retired in 1997. He served with the US Army. He was an avid fisherman and card player.

He is also survived by his daughter Heather McGinness of Lincoln; his sons David McGinness of North Carolina and Marc McGinness of Lincoln; his brother William McGinness of Oceanside, California; his sister Jacqueline Zona of Cumberland; his sister in law Jeanne Andrews Stock of Lincoln; 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Edward Church, Weeden St., Pawtucket. Inurnment with military honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 9:00-10:00 am.
