Raymond F. Garcia, 85, of Lincoln, died Friday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Marilyn (Pewsey) Garcia and the long time loving companion and love of Buttercup. Born in Lincoln he was a son of the late Frank and Kate (Pina) Garcia. He had lived all of his life in Lincoln.

He was a veteran and served two tours of duty. Mr. Garcia was employed as a truck driver for Smiths Transfer and a member of Teamsters Local #251.

Survivors including Buttercup are his son Michael R. Garcia of Lincoln, step daughter Cheryl Thompson Cameron of Glocester, daughter Cheryl Martel of No. Providence, sisters Carminda Travaris of Pawtucket, and Julia Garcia of Coventry, grandchildren Kristin Strickland, Michael and Matthew Martel, Raymond and Seth Garcia, and Bennett Thompson, great-grandchildren RJ and Paige Strickland, Ali, Lea, Iam and Elijah Martel, nieces and nephews William and Gary Garcia, Corrine Andrade, Geraldine Ferreira, Joanne Turgeon, Patricia Correira, and Alfred, Wayne and Craig Travaris. He was the brother of the late George Garcia and the late Mary Garcia.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. Private burial with Military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 pm.
