Homer L. Lafond, Jr.

Homer L. Lafond, Jr., 73, died Saturday in North Conway, New Hampshire. He was the husband of Claudette (Tellier) Lafond. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Homer L. Lafond Sr. and Lucille M. (Dery) Lafond.

He is survived by his children and their spouses Nicolette Weber and Christopher John Weber, and Homer L. Lafond III and Cheryl Lafond; grandchildren Austin- Robert Louis Weber, Cody- Christopher Weber, Homer L. Lafond IV, Hunter L. Lafond, Chloe L. Lafond; sister Jeannine M. Taylor; in-laws Ronald & Karen Tellier, Roger & Celeste Tellier, and Paul & Suzanne Tellier. He was the brother of the late Annette Seaburg and the brother-in-law of the late Raymond Tellier.

He graduated from Central Falls High School and was a Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War. Mr. Lafond was a truck driver for Blue Ribbon Transportation and a retired Teamster of Local 251. He later owned Kote-All Dampproofing, Inc.

He was past president and life member of the LeFoyer Club. He also served as chairman of the Central Falls Zoning Board for many years. He served as an advisor for the Central Falls School Committee for the renovations of the high school. He was a lifelong parishioner of Saint Matthew/Holy Spirit Parish. He served for many years as chairperson and cook for the Parish Fall Festival.

His favorite sports were boating and fishing. He also loved to travel. Homer truly enjoyed family life especially being with his grandchildren. Homer lived life to the fullest.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Holy Spirit Parish, 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls. Burial with military honors will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Friday from 3-8 pm.
