Dorothy Marquis, 92, of East Providence, died March 14, 2012. She was the wife of the late John H.W. Marquis. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Harrie N. and Maybell (Snyder) Arnold.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Barbara S. Aronhalt of East Providence, and 3 sons, John H.W. Marquis Jr. of Georgia, Stewart A. Marquis of Tiverton and Scott Marquis of Vermont, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was was predeceased by her brothers, Morton Arnold and Harrie Arnold.

Mrs. Maquis was a graduate of the Lincoln School and the Katherine Gibbs School. She was employed at a radio station and a law office, as a church secretary for 10 yrs, and 14 yrs at Carter, Rice, Skorrs and Bennent of Pawtucket. She worked 8 years as an Assistant to the Administrator at United Methodist Retirement Center, where upon her retirement she lived.

Her funeral and burial will be private. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
