96, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Mt. St. Rita Health Centre in Cumberland. Formerly of North Providence, she was the wife of the late Edward Porcaro and daughter of the late Carmine and Angela Carcieri.
She is survived by her son Edward Porcaro and his wife, Helen, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; her brother Alfred Carcieri of Smithfield; son-in-law Anthony J. Motta of Cumberland; her grandchildren Edward Porcaro of Lincoln, Toni Motta Yip of Cumberland, Michael Motta of Wakefield, Gerald Motta of Lincoln; Carl Porcaro and Alan Porcaro of Port St. Lucie, FL; 9 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Elsie M. Motta and the sister of the late Domenic Carcieri, Irene Del Farno, William Carcieri, Jennie Coia, Amelia Della Valle, and Mary Bonaventura.
She loved travelling, dancing and fashion design, often designing her own clothes (including her trademark hats and fabric-covered shoes). She will be remembered for her style and independence.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation will be held from 8:00 am to 9:00 am prior to the funeral.
