Joseph Brunelle, 76, of Cumberland, died Friday at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Ann M. (Corrigan) Brunelle and the son of the late Amos V. and Marie (Melia) Brunelle.

Mr. Burnelle was employed for 20 years by the Town of Cumberland as a Director of the Finance Department until his retirement in 1996. He was an Army veteran.

His sons Steven J. Brunelle of Johnston, James J. Brunelle of Atlanta, Georgia and Douglas J. Brunelle of Albion, brother Amos V. Brunelle Jr.of Johnston, sisters Marie Hynes of Cranston and Carol Cardosa of Cumberland, grandchildren Steven J. and Tayla Ann Brunelle, and nieces and nephews survive him.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, School Street, Albion. Inurnment with military honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
