Richard Dickinson, 97, of Sterling, Connecticut, formerly of Lincoln, died Monday at Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam. Born in Durham, Maine, he was a son of the late Henry and Ester (Nielson) Dickinson.

He was employed in the shipping department of Harvest Bread Co. until his retirement. Mr. Dickinson was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his son Dennis Dickinson with whom he lived, 3 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, step-sister June Robinson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Leslie, John, Stanley, Earl and Philip Dickinson, Ruth Palmer, Mildred Thomsen, and his twin Rebecca Dickinson and step-brother of the late Jennie Mailloux.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 am.
