May 1, 2011

Agnes F. (Rattigan) Gorman, 94, of St. Elizabeth Home, East Greenwich, died Sunday.

She was the devoted wife of William T. "Bill" Gorman for 47 years.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary V. (Ellery) Rattigan. Agnes had lived in Pawtucket for 35 years and Lincoln for most of her life.

She was employed as a school teacher for the Pawtucket School System and late the Providence School System from which she retired in 1974. A graduate of St. Francis Xavier High School and Rhode Island College, she was a member of the Alumnae and Alumni Associations of both schools.

Mrs. Gorman had a gift for knitting, crocheting and tatting and needle pointing. As each new child was born, there was a beautiful new afghan and outfit crafted by Agnes to welcome them to this world! Agnes always welcomed custom orders from her family and friends.
