Viola T. Mutter, of Cumberland, died Thursday surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Frederick J. Mutter, Sr. They had been married 63 years.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was a daughter of the late James Arundel and Marie (Jette) Arundel. She had been a Cumberland resident for 51 years.

Viola is predeceased by her brother Philip Arundel and sisters Dorothy Cocca and Anita Vieira. She leaves three sons, Frederick J. Mutter Jr. and his wife Diana (Cirillo) Mutter, Jeffrey J. Mutter and his wife Marilyn (Gravel) Mutter and Rudolph A. Mutter and his wife Maria (Tavares) Mutter, all of Cumberland. She is survived by five grandchildren, Kristina Mayer, Ashley Mutter, Alison Mutter, Eric Mutter and Daniel Mutter and one great grandchild, Lukas Mayer. She leaves many nieces and nephews to whom she was very close.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
