Richard Jay Shanley, 75, of North Providence, died Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret (Skiera) Shanley. They had been married 50 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of James E. and Dorothy E. (Clegg) Shanley.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for approximately thirty years, the majority of that occuring at Foxboro Company, Foxborough, MA. Dick was also an active parishioner at Mary Mother of Mankind Church.

Mr. Shanley is also survived by his sons James J. Shanley and his wife Christina and Thomas J. Shanley and his wife Kristin, his sisters Judith Sawyer and Dorothy Porier and his grandsons Jonathan, Nathan and Tyler Shanley.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:15 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-6 pm.
