Memories of my friend and fellow worker in a short story.

Many years ago , myself and the late and great white hunter, Duke Gannites, responded to an assistance call at a home on Ducsberry Courtt near where the late Seargeant lived. Arriving simultaniously, Duke and I met with the Lady home owner who informed us that there was what she said was some alien type critter in her open rear porch area and she asked if we could rid her of this horrible looking beast.?? We went immediately to the porch area around to the back of the house and were astounded at what we were confronted with. It was what looked like a cross from a rat and a small cat. After some curious but sincere immediate consultation with each other we decided that this beast had to be immediately exterminated. Duke, always at the ready, had his Kell light hanging from his belt and with the weapon at the ready proceeded to exact the extermination of this ferocious looking beast, which stood at about a couple of pounds soaked wet. At precisely at the beginning of his downswing a loud STOP!!!!!!!!!! DONT KILL THAT DOG, IT ESCAPED FROM MY HOUSE ABOUT AN HOUR AGO. Welll, Dukefound it in his heart to let the frightened Chinese Hairless dog live. RIchard informed Duke and I the dog belonged to his Sister and he was charged with dog sitting for the weekend and the doggie found its way out the back door and ran off through the Hood. RIchard was a dear friend to all of us in the job and was always ready to help us in all of the fund raisers, mainly Duke and myself and a few others on the Force ran, mostly for the Meeting Street School. HE, did a lot for his community and his efforts will sorely be missed see you in Heaven, hopefully. Roby and Frenchy'!!!!!!!

My mom (Martha LaPorte) passed away over a year ago, she and my Dad knew Mr. Thibaudeau very well.and what a wonderful man he was! I remember him as cop as I grew up. Bill, Duke, and others were always telling storys about each other and fellow cop. I remember of all mom and dad's friends he was the only one not to arrest me for silly stuff to bring me home to my mom. He was always so good to me and my mom. He will be missed..My prays and love go out to all his family..
