Roland A. Palin, 89, of 10 Franklin St ., Lincoln, died Saturday at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center . He was the husband of the late Estelle (Jacques) Palin. He was born in Central Falls , a son of the late Oscar and Louise (Charpentier) Palin. He had lived most of his life in Pawtucket .

Mr. Palin was employed as a paint manager for Harris Lumber Co. of Providence for 28 years until his retirement in 1981. He also served as a caretaker for St. Cecilia Church in Pawtucket for many years.

When he moved to Lincoln he volunteered his time at St. Jude Church. He was a 1951 graduate of Tabbot Hubbard Business School . He was an aviation machinist's mate third class serving with the US Navy during World War II.

Mr. Palin served six months with the CCC. He was a former member of the Eugene T. Lefebvre VFW Post #1271. He was a Eucharistic minister and usher at St. Cecilia Church and a former member of their prayer group.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Palin of Pawtucket , Roland A. Palin Jr. of Woonsocket, and Jean Palin of Limerick, ME, his brothers, Lionel Palin of Central Falls and Clarence Palin of Arizona, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late David and Jean Palin and the brother of the late Arthur Palin and Lillian Pelland.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave. , Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia Church, Central Ave. , Pawtucket . Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery , Pawtucket . Calling hours are Tuesday from 6-8 pm.
