Elsie M. Motta, 75, of Cumberland, formerly of Lincoln, died Friday at Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. She was the beloved wife of Anthony J. Motta. They had been married 57 years. Born in Providence she was the daughter of Margaret (Carcieri) Porcaro of N. Providence and the late Edward Porcaro.

Mrs. Motta was the owner of the former Elsie's Needle Craft Center and was a needle craft instructor for many years. She had held various positions including the Presidency of the Narragansett Council of Campfire Girls. She worked with the Council over the span of many years. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Jude Church and Our Lady of LaSalette in Attleboro, MA, she was active at St. Jude Church and a member of parish The Women of Spirit. She organized a group for the American Cancer Society's Walk-a-Thon. Mrs. Motta also served of the Board of Directors for the Young People's Symphony of RI.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her daughter Toni Ann Motta Yip of Cumberland, her sons Michael G. Motta of S. Kingstown and Gerald A. Motta of Lincoln, her brother Edward Porcaro of Florida and 4 grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, Front St., Lincoln. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 pm.
