Josephine M. Beauchemin, 89, of Central Falls, died Thursday. She was the wife of Oliva “Bushy” Beauchemin and the late Ambrose Luoni. Born in Central Falls , she was a daughter of the late Marcin and Constance Padykula.

She is also survived by her daughter Joanne Socci and her husband Tony of Glocester, grandson Michael Socci and his wife Dana of Cumberland, granddaughter Julianna Socci of Glocester, sisters, Irene Lopes and Helen Dumont of Cumberland and Mary Kosowski of Pawtucket, and nieces and nephews. She was the step-mother of Rev. Ronald Beauchemin of
Attleboro , MA, Susan Walker of Lincoln, Jane Bedard of Pawtucket , Normand Beauchemin of Lincoln and Roland Beauchemin of Ohio , 10 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Josephine loved to sew for everyone and made many outfits and costumes for church minstrel shows, plays and shows that she and her husband, Bushy, participated in. Josephine was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed cooking her delicious pierogies and golumbkis for her family. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family. She and her husband, Bushy, were very active in their church and to many charities for the poor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Matthew Church, Dexter St . , Central Falls . Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary 's Cemetery, Pawtucket . Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, c/o Our Lady of Good Help Church , 1063 Victory Highway , Mapleville , RI 02839 .
