Richard G. McGinn, 72, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed into eternal life on November 1, 2023, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Richard was born in Pawtucket to John Edward McGinn and Barbara (Toner) McGinn and moved to Cumberland in 1956.  He graduated from Cumberland High School and attended New England Institute of Technology.  He worked for 35 years for Amtrak, MassBay Commuter Rail, and Keolis.

He leaves his beloved wife, Lynn (Denham) McGinn, and his children John and Lucy McGinn, both at home.  He also leaves his son Richard McGinn, and his two sons, Declan and Caleb McGinn, all of Maui, Hawaii.

Richard also leaves his sister, Colleen McGinn of Coventry, along with many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother, Stephen McGinn.

Richard loved traveling the world with his wife and children.  His quick wit will be sorely missed by those who knew him best.

His family would like to thank the oncology teams at both Brigham & Women Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute for every effort expended on Richard’s behalf.

Funeral arrangements will be private.
